Doc Vault

Doc Vault is ac-co.ai's organization-wide document store — one place for everything you upload directly, plus files from connected providers like Dropbox, browsable, taggable, searchable, and automatically parsed by AI so it can be found and reasoned about later (it's also where signed E-Sign envelopes and other documents from across ac-co.ai land automatically).

Key concepts

• One browse surface — the Vault is a single file-browser view (like a Finder or Explorer window) rather than several separate pages; filters and folders change what you're looking at within that one view.
• Scopes — you can browse your own uploaded documents ("mine"), or browse a connected external provider's files (Dropbox today; Google Drive and OneDrive are coming) directly inside the same vault view.
• Filters — Recent, Starred, Unsorted (documents not yet filed into a folder), and Shared, on top of the default "all documents" view.
• AI parsing — uploaded documents are automatically parsed so their content becomes searchable and available to "Ask the vault" — each document shows a processing status while this happens.
• Tags — an organization-wide tagging system for organizing documents beyond folders.

How do I…

…upload a document?

Use the upload control in the Vault — dropped or selected files upload, get auto-parsed, and land wherever you dropped them (or Unsorted, if you didn't pick a folder).

…connect Dropbox (or another provider)?

Connect it from Vault settings; once connected, switch the Vault's scope to that provider to browse its files alongside your own uploads, and import any file you need into the vault proper.

…find a specific document?

Use search, or narrow down with the filter tabs (Recent, Starred, Unsorted, Shared) and folders — search looks across both file names and parsed content.

…organize documents with tags?

Open a document's details and add tags from the Tags tab — tags are shared across your organization, so everyone uses the same palette.

…ask a question across my documents?

Open "Ask the vault" from the toolbar (or from a specific document) to chat with an assistant grounded in your vault's content — scope it to your current folder or a specific document for a narrower answer.

…check whether a document has finished processing?

Each document shows a status badge (e.g. processing, ready, failed) reflecting where it is in AI parsing — open its details for more, including a Versions tab if it's been updated since upload.
